Located in Mosman Sydney, this is the incredible home of Bec & Bridge co-founder, Bridget Yorston. Adding a contemporary refresh to a 1910 Federation home was a challenge but esteemed studio Handelsmann + Khaw rose to the occasion.
Bringing warmth and rusticity to the interiors through a muted and romantic palette, the home serves as a relaxing retreat for Yorston's family. The main living space features our Bombola coffee table in Cream Travertine bringing relaxed colour and texture to the space.
No detail was spared in its design in this home, with a bold statement of stainless steel in the open-plan kitchen. A nod to Bauhaus industrial design, the brushed stainless steel butler's pantry and benchtop add pure materiality to the kitchen where marble would commonly be used.
“When I walked in, I was struck by the scale and proportions of the rooms, it had this really nice feeling of space,” she recalls. “It was bathed in natural light, which I love.”

With luxurious slabs of Calacatta Monet in the main bathroom, for a “hotel suite feel”, and a splash of Rosa Tea marble in the powder room, they're inviting and elegant. Vintage sconces and rustic brass hardware add a sense of homeliness and old-world intrigue.
With relaxation and family at the heart of the design, Handelsmann + Khaw and Yorston have pulled off an effortless balance of two eras. Merging classic Federation and 2000's minimalism through a modern lens.
We are proud to be a part of this contemporary project that fuses timeless sensibility with an unexpected edge. Similarly, we design our collections with this in mind, focusing on premium materials of beauty and quality.
